This is a serious post. I have a history of mental health problems and I think my obsessiveness is part of this.

I go to the toilet, a lot. A lot a lot. About every 30 minutes. I have to go to the toilet before I sit down for a meal, before I leave the house, before I sit down with a drink, basically if I get up and do something I have to go to the loo.

Its before bedtime that its the worst, I have to go straight from the loo to bed. If I have to go back to get some fogotton keys or turn a light off I have to go back and wee again. Sometimes I find myself going back 4-5 times Obviously I am practical and try to make sure that when I go to the loo before bed I don't need to go back but its so stupid.

Reading this it just seems stupid but it gets me down, i am young and not incontinent but going to the loo seems to dictate my life.

Its not a UTI, and I am not diabetic. Its def in my head.

If I don't go nothing bad happens but I just sit there needing a wee so I end up getting up and going.

So sorry for you You probably know that this might be OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). It can be treatable - ask the GP if she will refer you for CBT or any other therapy available.

Take care of yourself

I thought ODC but I don't think anything bad will happen if I don't go, it just niggles away at me.

it's not about thinking something bad will happen - that is the other end of the spectrum - it can start very small (not saying that it would ultimately end up like that either). It's just an obsessive thought that you can't talk yourself out of.

By saying it's 'just' I don't mean that it's easy to control. OCD is not easy to control even with treatment.

Thank you for your reply, interesting idea about it being something I obsess over and can't control, that seems very true for me. Even when I am out i am very concious of where the loos are and I always use the loo before leaving pubs etc because I worry I will not find the next one soon enough.

I am off to bed now so 4 million wees lie ahead of me. Would be if it was not so irritating.
