Citalopram and teeth grinding

I take citalopram but have noticed i'm grinding my teeth at night.
Could this be a side effect of the medication or a side effect of stress?

stress perhaps. I bite my teeth together really hard, I didn't notice a difference when on citalopram TBH.

it's giving me headaches and jaw and toothache.

so rubbish.

as far as I can see it's not listed on the common side effects.
know what you mean about headaches, sore teeth and jaws though (and in my case when I bite my tongue in my sleep)

I had that Dragon and it is called bruxism - it can be a side effect of citalopram but also the anxiety.
I asked my dentist to make a mold for my teeth and slept with it in at night, which helped.
Mention it to your GP or CPN though.(about the teeth grinding).

not nice is it.
i might speak to my dentist about it, see if he has a solution. i'm not sure if i'm grinding them as i'm asleep, but i'm definitely clenching my jaw.

Short term, if you are clencing, is to sit with your tounge in between your teeth. This stops you biting down too hard.
