I feel terrible. We've got a new home (lucky, should be over the moon with joy) but when I went to see it again today (the signing was yesterday), I wondered if we hadn't made a mistake. Too late now but feeling v. anxious. Any advice?

yesoooh can i come and help to furnish it, sounds really exiting now
once youve got all your colours on the walls and floors and plenty of family piccys, it'll be great...it'll have you and your family in it, so there will be no bad vibes, just happy family ones

Throw a house warming party before you've sorted it all out with carpets and furniture etc. That'll give the place a new feel, and you'll get it over and done with instead of stalling for months on end.

Okay! We'll have an MN housewarming. That would be so much fun & guaranteed to chase away any "scaries".

I was thinking of the basement, actually. I was so thrilled with the idea of never again having the dining table covered with laundry but I'm scared of the bloody basement!

paint it too 'you're' liking..nice colours, put a hifi down there, lots of nice piccys on walls etc..so it feels just like any other paret of house

Hmmm... I'd already thought of putting a cd player/radio down there. Too bad there is no view from the window... just cement wall with a bit of light coming in from the top. Plants, maybe? Not plastic ones, tho. Very scary things, plastic plants.

Oh no! And the boiler is down there! And all the pipes...

Do a cleansing with white sage incense. Carry it through the house and ask for positive energy and protection. Our house was previously occupied by a rather disturbed family - the son had a lot of drug problems. I did a blessing and never felt any bad vibes afterwards.

You can get pipework boxed in so it looks smart. Maybe even stick the boiler behind some kind of cupboard door (check required minimum distances and ventilation), and depending on the room layout, you could build some kind of fitted unit that integrates boiler / utility room sink / washing machine & dryer etc.

Light colours will make it look brighter, and you'll find that bamboo can probably survive perfectly in the space between your window and the opposite cement wall, giving you green, a bit of life, movement in the wind and a nice rustle to keep you company down there !!!

Last one and I'll shut up: Carefully positioned mirrors will reflect the little light you have, and can add extra, suprising, vistas to rooms.
