Keep bursting in to tears, need a break, relatives and friends not available

I am not sure where to post this but here goes.

DS is 6 months old and wonderful.

I however am struggling, he doesn't sleep much at night, and then only in short bursts and is being very intensive during the day.

I have started bursting into tears in random places (i,e waitrose, adn then crying all the way home) and really, really need a break.

We have builders in, doing a kitchen extension, I am starting a small business with two friends that starts in two weeks, no sleep, etc, etc. DH is wonderful, but keeps having to work weekends etc.

Relatives either not suitable or not available, friends the same.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can go, with DS, where they look after him while I relax?

DH is also desperate for a good nights sleep, and us being away would let him do that.

Please, please, please, please, please I need some help short term.

Longer term we will look into something for DS one afternoon a week to give me a break, but need something now!

HI

Have just seen this (thank you lulumama)

I'm not sure how far away from me you are (I am based in ST Albans, Herts) but if I can help you - I will!

I am a night nanny, a maternity nanny and a doula.

My website has my phone number on it...... sometimes it helps just to talk to someone

me

I am up for the next hour if you need someone to talk to.

xxx

Lucytownsend and Phreadd, thank you very much, lucy, I will work out distances,

Phreadd, you are on the far side of London from us, but if you are around tomorrow, it would be great to call and maybe have a chat? I can't tonight, have to go to bed now, as DS is actually asleep for the moment.

Many, many thanks

Hi

I am around tomorrow after 6.30pm if that's any good?

Sleep well and take care of yourself

xx

Had a reasonable nights sleep, DH kindly sent me into spare room when DS woke up, but really need that break, trying to phone local nurseries, but they are nearly all full.

I have an appointment on Wednesday for one though, which has one day free a week, so here's hoping!

hi. really sorry you're struggling, but great that you are recognising your limits...

for the immediate, how about a council run leisure centre that offers a creche service....you could pop in and have a quick swim and a long coffee afterwards just to recharge your batteries, or if money is not an issue, how about a private gym with a creche facility and nice sauna etc that you can work into your weekly rountine...

its no wonder you're feeling like you are...you have an awful lot on your plate..

i really hope you can get some relief soon, and my bet is that a few good nights sleep you'll feel a lot more on top of your life..

mellyonion, that is a good idea and I will look into it. (money is always an issue, but we could probably spare a bit right now to help with this!)

have you thought of nutritional support-
b vitamins, essential fatty acids

cut out caffiene ( it depletes your body of b vitamins that feed your nervous system)

Good luck

Hi im a nanny. I have worked with children for over three years. I would be willing to look after him for you over night. I am first aid trained.
Email me at [email protected]

Oh what a shame about those hotels Angua, they seemed perfect, I was impressed with their ethos (might consider it myself for a break next year). It seems you may have found more ways of getting help now, I really hope you work something out. You've got a lot on - don't be hard on yourself for allowing the pressure to release with a good cry.

I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I find anything else suitable..

I'll add myself to the list here too...18 yrs experience nannying and now trained as a doula. Can't offer you a spa, but there is a beauty salon that does massage and the works literally downstairs from me. If you fancy even just an afternoon let me know. Big hugs. x
