It’s not quite September yet but the weather is getting worse and the nights are certainly drawing in so I decided today is the day for a new thread!

I’ve stolen the wording from last year’s first post as it’s perfect 🤣🤣.

Welcome all old and new who struggles in the cold and dark months for advice and general moaning!

The only rule is no talk of snuggling under blankets, crunching in leaves (which will realistically be a soggy wet mulch, or pumpkin spiced anything!

Advice from previous years’ threads:

A SAD lamp can help as can a daylight alarm clock.
Try to get outdoors when the weather/ light allows it.
Try to keep up with your exercise routine or start a new one!
Remember to take your vitamin D and multi vitamins.
Try to have something to look forward to.

Are we allowed to like snuggly pumpkin stuff and have SAD?

Maybe I’m fortunate in that mine doesn’t kick in until the end of October usually, so I still enjoy August/September/October. Days aren’t too dreadfully short of daylight until then.

At some point at the end of October the ‘dread’ kicks in like a heavy weight in my spirit.

I think I will start my SAD lamp basically now though and been taking vitamin D all year.

Going for walks helps me too.

I have bought a pumkin spice candle, candles and fairy lights help me cope with the grey, the dark, and the misery.

IMO you can fill your boots with any flavours and aromas but I’m not sure about using the word ‘snuggly’, if you refer back to the OP!

🤣🤣

No amount of spiced pumpkin fragrance helps me. Coconut sunscreen is my fragrance of choice in the dark months.

It's not cold but it is horribly grey today. I can feel it. I don't know if my SAD is getting worse with age or it's the contrast with the amazing summer, but I am already feeling crushed and am dreading the months ahead.

@Snowcanwait haha liking them is permitted but waxing lyrical about how wonderful autumn is because of them is not 🤣🤣.

We had an unexpectedly gorgeous day yesterday, which wasn’t forecast and lifted my spirits immensely 🥰.

Weird weather here today, very warm and humid but keeps drizzling on and off.

Same here. A very light drizzle this morning but sunny and warm this afternoon 👍🏼

Same, when I walked the dog at lunch time it was raining and bright sunshine. No idea where the rain was coming from!

I'm loving the weather here today. i've been sitting in the garden and it's really hot. I've had to put suncream on. It's just wonderful!

@Idontknowhatnametochoose same here 😁 such a boost. And a few more days of sun ahead. I'm going to make the most of every moment and try to store the feeling and the Vit D.
