I don't really know where to start other than I'm so so so tired.......

I was thinking today that I'm probably as unhappy as I've ever been, then I thought of the 5 rounds of IVF I went through and then though nah get a grip. You have everything you ever wanted, twins, a lovely home, a sexless marriage what do you have to be this miserable about

You've had far harder times

I'm the most unha[[y I've been with my body in my entire life. My twins are 7 now so really no excuse. I don't know what I'm expecting from this post other than to actually write out my feelings. I don't do social media (sorry I realise mumset proably is classed as social media) so cannot post on FB or Insta and honestly the thought of laying bare my feelings to virtual strangers or even worse my judgemental mother is too much to bare.

I cannot pinpoint exactly what is wrong, other than I feel an intense feeling of sadness. Like the answer to everything is just out of reach. Doesn't help that I'm 47 and most definitely in the throws of perimenopause

I did go and see the GP, but they gave me HRT that was totally inadequate. I'm on the mini pill to combat my horrific periods and mood swings, so they gave me a HRT that assumed you had a break for bleeding. After a quick conflab with chatgpt I decided that they didn't have a fecking clue what they're talking about so didn't bother taking it.

I also had gestational diabetes when pregnant, and am literally on the verge of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Which is pretty shit. So now I need to get my shit in gear and deal with that.

I'm not expecting any answers from the lovely folk of mumsnet, but it doesn't half feel good writing that all down. If you feel the same and this has given you a little smile then my work is done

I'm now off to get some M&S tandoori flatties out of the oven along with homemade chips that neither of my kids will eat, which is more for me & DH to eat and get fat.

Happy Sunday everyone

Sorry, you thought the GP gave you the wrong kind of HRT?

You didn't try different delivery methods? Everything you describe can be helped with adequate HRT, exercise and a good sleep.

Very few people get HRT right first time. I made 4 changes to mine before it worked.

Your dinner sounds lush 😋 hope you feel better soon x

I've just posted all my woes on a different thread so I hear ya.

I feel the answer is as always sleep, nutrition and exercise which is boring as fuck.

Until then, enjoy your flat bread x

It’s so true - that will be my new mantra

luckily I’m off to a theme park today with the kids, and my lovely friend, which I’m sure will cheer me up

now that satans araehole heatwave seems to have subsided my plan is to get out more walking. I have 2 slipped/compressed discs in my lower back so really do struggle to do anything high impact but walking is a bloody good exercise

just on the HRT in all seriousness my abject fear of starting periods again or bleeding has me running for the hills. I know it sounds simple to just go back to the gp and I probably will at some point

Hi op. Get a mirena. I avoided it for years and it changed my life.

Or, if you don't want mirena and your periods have stopped for 12 months you can go on continuous progesterone so no bleeding.

I do feel that a trip to the menopause boards would help you out.

And on eating well, It really will make you feel better. Processed food makes me feel abysmal.

The thing is with mirena for me is that I’ve been through 5 rounds of IVF, I don’t want to be messed with anymore. I’m scared of the pain and more scared that I will be the small percentage of women who will bleed continuously on it.

this weather has made me feel hateful so hopefully now it’s cooled down i feel a bit more clear headed
