Struggling with frightening thoughts and sensations about being alive

Do you ever think you’re dead? I just can’t actually believe I’m alive. I cut myself. I bleed. But my skin itches all over. I think I’m decomposing from the inside out. I’m being eaten alive by bugs.
Or I’m dead and stuck in the half life and need to find my way to the afterlife.

I’ve had a look but I can only find basic assessments with clinicians? I need a psychiatrist.

Either phone the priory and speak to them or google “priory psychiatrist specialising in psychosis”, have a look at the ones which come up and email or ring their secretaries.

Thanks. I don’t have psychosis though apparently.

I thought you wanted a psychiatrist to confirm that you do have psychosis as you say you are well when you are on the antipsychotics

I just want somebody to listen to me and make the voices go away. I don’t really care how. I don’t believe I’ll get a diagnosis of psychosis now though with what my last psychiatrist said. Anybody who reads my notes believes him.

You are going round in circles here. Just pick a psychiatrist from The Priory and have an assessment with them. They will listen to you and they won’t have your previous notes.

Ok so they don’t ask for my nhs notes? Because the GP told me they will.

They didn’t when I had my first appointment in 2020. It may have changed but I doubt it as they wouldn’t have the time or inclination to trawl through your history. I would have thought they will make their own judgement based on their experience. They will send your GP a review letter from your appointment though.
