How to improve resilience, grit

I just seem to have no resilience for anything. Issues at work-I struggle. Issues at home- I struggle. Small issues just seem to throw me, upset me, anger me. I want to improve my resilience to things, have more grit, be stronger.
What can I do to help this? I have 2 young children, married, work part time (have the children when not working so not loads of free time).

I was referred to Mind by the Mental Health Practitioner at my local surgery. I have just completed my first of 6 sessions on Mind’s - Resilience and Stabilisation course.

I can’t give any feedback on the course as of yet but just wanted to let you know there is help out there x

To quote Simon Sinek, start with 'Why'.

Why am I feeling unsettled/upset/angry? What happened that triggered that emotion? Did it remind me of something someone said or a time when a similar situation ended badly? Is this feeling reasonable? Is there another way of dealing with this.

Step back, take a few seconds to evaluate what's going on rather than reacting instinctively.

Using the Headspace meditation app helps me. I do 5 mins a day and definitely feel calmer.

Gather your evidence that you are a capable person, make a list of all the times:
you have done something you didn’t think you could do
you have helped someone who was struggling
you have had a conversation you thought might be difficult/you were worried about
This is your evidence that you are capable and resilient. When you have a wobble you can go back to the list and see in black and white that you can do hard things
With two children you’ll be doing loads of these weekly, caring, advocating, helping, keeping them alive(!)
