Is there any dentists that can help?

Hi!
Please help. I have been told recently I have receeding gums and have been to the hygienest for a proper clean. Since the clean, my mouth has been feeling so fragile and I can feel my bottom teeth through my gums (as of there is no gum there)!
I was wondering if there are any dentists available that can tell me how serious this looks? I am terrified of losing my teeth at 38! I am using Sensodyne, flossing and have another appointment with the dentist in April. Any advice or opinions appreciated!!!

I’m a dental nurse, try not to stress too much, recession generally just causes sensitivity, your dentist can advise if they want to consider fillings to build them up a little but recession itself isn’t usually a huge issue.
use sensitive toothpaste, don’t rinse after brushing, if really sensitive, dab some sensitive toothpaste on them and leave over night. I’ve seen much worse if it’s any consolation!

The reason you’re feeling your teeth is likely because the hygienist has cleaned away calculus (hardened plaque) from the areas which is best for your gum health in the long run although it feels weird!

Lydia, I really appreciate your response! Thank you. I will switch to sensitive toothpaste as I am using a Pro Enamel one at the moment. Appointment is now the end of March so I will try not to worry until then. I just cant bear the thought of losing any front teeth! It is good to know you have seen worse.... I assuned any worse and the teeth would be out
