My second DC now wants to move in with her gf and whilst happy for them both I’m feeling a bit lost inside. She’s over with her today and I doubt she’ll return much now. I do work, have acquaintances rather than friends, own a dog and a few hobbies but the house will be so quiet.
if anyone is going through the same, please share how you adjusted? Thank you

Voluntary work is a great way to meet new people…just in my small town the following are after volunteers
Food bank
community cafe
canal trust
Brownies/cubs
Youth club
Local common maintenance group
Litter pickers group
Local theatre (run by volunteers)

As well as voluntary work I’m in a lady’s walking group (great therapy as well as exercise), go to a gym class, and do regular walks with friends. Meet up is a useful app for finding local social events. You’ve just got to keep busy really.

You have to try and fill your time in new ways. I've been there (in a different form) and it was so hard at first and I was upset a lot.

I volunteered (Foodbank), joined a knitting group (average agge 80+ and I love it), went to craft groups and had a coffee with them after, took the dogs new places.

Good luck finding your new rhythm.
