Can’t cope and now received eviction notice

Name changed for this as very outing.

Ive had diagnosed mental health problems for most of my life and haven’t been coping well for several months. I’m on medication and have GAD, OCD, PTSD and depression.

The last few weeks have been awful - I’ve had a cancer scare requiring urgent surgery (on 2 week pathway) and my husband is having surgery in December (I am also his carer)

Now today we have received a Section 21 for a no fault eviction from our long term home. I can’t even comprehend this on top of everything else and my already very poor mental health.

Genuinely feel like I’m in shock and don’t even know where to start with all this.
Not sure why I’m posting this but in bits at the moment.

Sorry to hear your difficulties. Speak to the homelessness team at your local authority. They can give practical advice and support. Also shelter are very good.

Do you get pip for your disabilities? If not it may be worth applying as part of increasing your income. A benefit check is worth getting.

Thank you for your kind reply. I will look into those suggestions - just feel so overwhelmed it’s difficult to know what to do or where to start so thank you.

Don’t think I’d qualify for PIP as “usually” my mental health is not so bad and I can work (part time around caring for husband) and function fairly well. he does get it so I know how tough the criteria is.

If cancer is confirmed, a lot of hospitals have MacMillan caseworkers, who are also very good sources of information and support. Cancer may mean additional entitlement to pip and UC. If not your local CAB may have a MacMillan caseworker you can use.

Thank you ☺️

He does get PIP but I earn to much for carers allowance unfortunately. Even though I only work part time. Thanks for the suggestion though.

@WTFamigoingtodoo I'm sorry for your troubles. The section 21 notice gives you two months notice. Citizen advice bureau might be able to help x
