Talking to myself/thinking out loud, doing it more often

I think i already know the answer but would like some reassurance!!
I have always talked to myself or talked out loud I think. But I have noticed that im doing it a lot more , such as in the car, and even in shops.
I'm not talking to anyone or in response to voices , it's more a narrative of what im doing, going over previous issues I have with family or rehearsing what to say next time.

This past few years I've had a lot of stress and don't really have anyone to talk to in real life so I think thats why I am doing it. My head is full of thoughts . But im getting a bit concerned as my kids have heard me and I realised I was doing it walking across Tesco carpark the other day. Any advice?

I find I do this when I'm stressed and am trying to talk myself down.
Do you think it might help you if you wrote your thoughts down or kept a journal? It helps me as I can 'get it out of me' and then move on rather than going over and over things in my head.

We often express our thoughts in different ways; if you’re doing this by talking, that’s ok.
For that reason, most people are used to hearing others do it, in short sentences here & there.
If you are concerned about amount of time or frequency then make an appointment with your GP or Mental Health Nurse / similar just so you can put your mind at ease.
(Meanwhile you may feel better if you’re able to limit it in public, just see how it goes.)

I think this is completely normal.

At least if you get sensible answers talking to yourself.😀

But keep the volume down.
