How long did your Sertraline side effects last?

I started on Sertraline 6 days ago. I’ve got nausea and extreme fatigue. My sleep is already awful anyway so I’m not sure if that’s also worse.
Did anyone else feel rubbish when starting it and how long before the side effects go away?

I felt like this until I started taking it at bedtime. Sorted

I’d say it took about 6 weeks for the effects to settle down completely for me, but it was bearable (ie not causing me any distress) after a week.

I felt completely horrific for around a week, it took every inch of willpower to keep taking it. After that I just had some mild lingering effects like very minor headaches, fatigue, feeling a bit out of sorts etc...
Then around six weeks later all the worry and stress and anxiety lifted and I felt 'normal' again for the first time in many, many years.
If you feel you can, please persevere because it is genuinely life changing for many people. It's almost eradicated my health anxiety which was extreme.
Hope you're feeling better soon 💐

This is interesting because my GP told me not to take it at night due to my insomnia 😔

I couldn’t take it at bedtime either because I just wouldn’t sleep with it!

Both times I went on it I was over the worst of the symptoms after about 2-2.5 weeks.

I hope you feel better soon x

Thank you! Yes, I feel shocking and as I have insomnia anything on top of the daily tiredness just feels so much worse.
I will definitely stick with it and keep everything crossed it works.

I take it before I eat the last spoonful of my breakfast. Any sooner and I feel sick. If I take it at bedtime I don't sleep. Definitely stick with it OP, it can be life changing
