Hi,
I'm currently pregnant (only 5 weeks so early days) and being managed out of my job based on alleged 'performance issues'. My employer doesn't know I'm pregnant.
Since returning from maternity leave I returned part time, but I feel like I've been set up to fail. I have been put on full time projects with excessive workloads, unrealistic deadlines and demands with a huge team to produce work for. I have replaced full time team members (same role and level) who were previously on the project full time, and am expected to manage the same workload part time. I raised the need for more resource multiple times but this was not addressed. I have been managing this by doing significant amounts of overtime on my non working days, evenings and weekends. This has not been sustainable as I have a toddler to look after on my non working days.
This has now really affected my mental health and I am so burnt out. I was having heart palpitations and couldn't sleep and ended up crying most of the day. So I've been signed off with stress for a few weeks.
I have been offered to take a settlement package (they haven't said yet how much), or to return to work on a PIP which I can imagine will be horrible given my managers bullying tendances when not on a pip. I can't imagine this will be easy to pass given the unrealistic expectations when not on a pip.
I haven't told them I am pregnant yet (only 5 weeks so very early). Should I tell them? Does anyone have any advice, or have had a similar situation? Feeling very vulnerable and so so upset, as both options listed above will mean I won't get my maternity enhanced pay or statutory pay. So I'm feeling extremely stressed about the finances and being jobless.
Thanks in advance
