Hiya everyone,
My youngest daughter started high school last September and since then I have been so unwell. Doctors think it's depression and anxiety. I've had many symptoms, headaches, dizziness, tinnitus, nausea, feelings of doom, fatigue etc.... Has anyone else found that when they're youngest has gone up to secondary school they've become depressed or more anxious? Tia x

No. It would be pretty unusual to suddenly feel like this unless you had underlying anxiety. Do you work, do things for yourself?

Not to that extent, no but I did get mild anxiety/depression symptoms which I wondered if might be due to that, I missed the school run and seeing the other parents in the mornings quite a bit. Even though I have always worked in a rewarding job, got lots of friends and hobbies etc which is what people always suggest. But with hindsight I think hormones were probably in the mix with peri starting, have you considered that?

Could it just be your kids growing up? I could see how that would make someone feel sad, I have to admit though I am looking forward to it I can't wait to never have to do a school run every again I'd say it's the opposite for me as I actually despise the school run

Are you dreading secondary school? It can come with its challenges such as bullying and hormones as they grow into teens buy then you’ve been there before if she’s the youngest.
Is it that she’s no longer your little girl and you miss the younger years? I could relate to that to that to a point but not in the sense you say, it definitely sounds like something else is going on.
I hate to be the one to mention it but could you be approaching menopause and your own hormones are causing you stress?
