Repeating EMDR

I had some EMDR in January and it was amazing.

I have multiple traumas from childhood. We could only work on one so we worked on the one I felt was most significant.
She said I could come back and am nowthinking of going back .

I'm unsure which trauma to focus on. How would I know?

Oh really, so glad to hear this worked! Do you mind me asking how many sessions you had and how much it cost?

Think it was 10 on NHS. I had to fight extremely hard for it. Cost ranges from £80-£150 I would say. I would recommend it. If I can't get it I will pay for it. They were very good on NHS.

EMDR changed my life, I still have flashbacks but not as intensely and no where near as traumatic. I can now mostly cope with triggers and am less avoidant of situations that in the past would have taken me straight back to the time and place of where the trauma came from.

I don’t think anyone can tell you what to focus on. Speak to your therapist.

As a professional who does EMDR with patients, it’s a bit odd they only worked on one childhood trauma. They should have processed them all.

but if that’s the way they work I would focus on the triggers you have a which one has the biggest impact on you and go from there.

EMDR does have a past, present and future template that would be good for you to google and look at!

good luck!

I think she would have done another but I was slow. There was also a lot of building up sessions.

That's helpful advice about the triggers, thank you. Thanks about the template, will check that out.

Oh I've just remembered we did this template. I think my first step may be to reread all my notes - such that I made them - from each session.
