I just wondered if anyone had any help or suggestions. I had a baby in December 2024 and I was sterilised at the same time. After this my periods were heavy but they have slowed down now but 1 or 2 weeks befofe my period my mood drops, I lose my appetite my heart beats fast o feel irritable and I've been like this for 5/6 months. I just want to feel normal again and not keep up this dramatic mood drop. It does pass after a few weeks and then I start eating but eating quite a lot.
Too add I have no sex drive when this happens to my relationship is not great either plus with my mood swings.
I have three children to look after and I hate them looking at me asking why I am upset at this time.

How old are you OP? Because it could be your in perimenopause - HRT can be great as can topical vaginal oestrogen for vaginal dryness etc. It could be PMDD - if your mood significantly and consistently is dropping around your period, antidepressants can be very useful for this along with some hormonal support. I'd recommend talking to your GP about the possibility of PMDD, it's having a major impact on your life so you might as well enquire as to what it could be. Hoping things get better for you.

I am 36. Yes maybe I will.make an appointment. Sometimes I feel silly because I think maybe it is just the way I am or just ny period hormones but I just wish I could feel the same for the whole month and not be so up and down.

Don't feel silly, you have nothing to feel silly about. For some reason it's ingrained into society that we must just put up with the pain and disruption that periods can sometimes cause, but I don't see any good reason for it. You could also look into menstrual suppression, some medications (deprvo, some birth control pills, the mirena coil often makes periods lighter and in some people stops them completely) that combined with some oestrogen/ progesterone (from HRT) or maybe with antidepressants could make your life a lot easier and and then you wouldn't have to go through the constant up and down each month. I'd also recommend tracking your period and your moods each day across the month especially in the week before your period - as its really good evidence for your GP to see (maybe use an app). https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/premenstrual-dysphoric-disorder-pmdd/what-is-pmdd/&ved=2ahUKEwjL-cOp1eGOAxUeZ0EAHVL0AkQQFnoECBYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1kfFPAPenwqScaSUm9H-9c

I mean it cannot hurt to try and you need to give antidepressants around 6 weeks, was the dose increased compared to last time? Also how much did you like yourself on them? We're you happier? Cause if you were then I think I'd prioritise that over him. Was there a reason he said he didn't like you on them? We're you more strict about your time etc. I'd take them, he doesn't get to control your body and what you take. Also I'd be concerned if he's not putting your best interest at heart if he doesn't have a concrete reason why he think they're bad. I would say it's common to feel like that but it's not normal. If it's about sex drive you need to give it 6 to 10 weeks, then I'd go back any maybe 1. Change antidepressants 2. Get some hormonal help, topical vaginal oestrogen can be great to counterbalance the impact on sex drive (your GP will care if it has a major effect because sex is an important part of health) 3. Your sex drive is already not great now, it's very dependant on each person as to whether it limits sex drive but it's worth a try to take them for the next 2 months because the general effect of your current mood on life v a potential impact on sex drive.
