Anyone else prescribed 'emergency' lorazepam?

I'm on 50mg Sertraline for anxiety, and I'm also prescribed lorazapam for 'emergencies'. I given 10 at a time, and I'm on my 3rd prescription of these in 5 years. So I'm really taking them very irregularly, only when I feel on the brink or in the midst of a severe panic attack. However there are definitely other times I know taking one would help me, I think I'm in a mindset where I shouldn't be taking them unless it's basically life or death (that's dramatic, but if you've had panic attacks I'm sure you know the feeling). I'm reluctant to take them at other times even if I know they will help me get through the day. For example, there are some days I end up bursting into tears at work, but I still won't take one.

I'm just wondering if anyone else is prescribed them for 'emergencies' and if so, how often are you taking them? What constitutes an emergency to you?

I have diazepam for the same reason. I very rarely take it but I find it reassuring to have them in case I need them.

I did have diazepam but another doctor switched me to lorazepam, she said it was less addictive and less sedative effects? I'm very wary of becoming addicted to anything which is why I'm hesitant to take it, even though I know it helps me immensely at times

I have diazepam PRN. I have to ask my CPN to get my psychiatrist to prescribe me a short course when I'm having a manic/mixed episode.

The only time I have had loraz is when I've been an inpatient on the ward.

I also take promethazine ( it's an OCT antihistamine, psychiatrist often prescribe this for agitation for the elderly with dementia as it's none addictive (I used to give it to my patients when I was normal and had a job lol)

I have clonazepam & promethazine prn.
Have only been given lorazepam on occasions when I need to be extremely relaxed eg smear tests.
