It's not a good day for me - feeling tearful and tired.

Have not had a good day today. I've been taking Citalopram for quite a few months now and GP discussed with me a couple of months about reducing from my 20mg to 10mg. I said I'd be happy to give it a go but when the time came to putting in my repeat prescription request I wasn't feeling great so asked to continue with the 20mg for a bit longer. I put in another request for prescription last week but couldn't collect it before the weekend which meant I had to miss a tablet on Sunday night. I went to the docs yesterday and the doctor had reduced my tablets to 10mg but had written a note for me to say if I wasn't happy to take two tablets and make an appointment to see him before I request anymore.
I haven't been too bad all day, been to work so been busy. DD1 (8) played me up after school and ever since I've just landed with a thud. Head feels heavy, I'm tearful and just waiting for DH to come home from work so I can go to bed.

Just put my PJs on and going to head for bed when DH gets in. I don't like this "hiding away from the world" stuff but it's the way it's going be tonight.

Hey Sparkler

Im also on the same drug - been over 6 mths now. I found that even missing one dose does muck with your head a bit. Not too much, but enough to leave you feeling isolated and unhappy. What u got to remember is that you are being treated for depression and the drug has to be weaned off slowly, so any change in doseage is likely to leave you feeling strange and easier to feel overwhelmed by the smallest of things.

Don't worry about "hiding away from the world" stuff, i'm sure we all feel it now and again(some more often than others - i sud know !)

The older i get the more i realsie that mental destress is far more common than i eva thought and you should not feel like you are alone ! Hope this helps

Hi StarSparkler (like the name btw - us sparkley ones are the best! ).
Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear you are on the ADs too, hope you are having a good day.
Feeling slightly better than yesterday although not 100%. Think another early night could be in order tonight. Although saying that I didn't get much of an early night last night. I went up to bed but ended up having a major sort out of my wardrobe until really late - was tired but knowing something in the house is in some kind of organisation helps a little.

Im like that ! Everytime i try to relax I always find stuff that needs doing - i find it keeps my mind off things - such as thinking too much ! For example today i went to watch a bit of TV whilst my DD was asleep ! Then i decided it was a good idea to mop the floor - then remembered the mop was broken, so cleaned it the old fashioned way ! On my knees with a sponge and bucket !

I think that being in control of something in the house and organisation is important when you feel outta control in other aspects of your life. It helps and that can only be a good thing !
