Since this discussion about benefit cuts I can't eat, sleep or hardly breathe, I am having so many panic attacks. I feel sick. Since teenage years I've been on anti depressants, I have social phobia and severe anxiety and panic attacks. I left school at 14 for being bullied and beaten daily. I have PTSD. I never left the house my whole teenage years then age 21 I went to a party and met a man who was 39 and got pregnant the first time I ever had sex, he was abusive and frightened me To death, I had two kids with him, his left me with even more ptsd we've not seen him for years his disappeared and left me with two children. I was awarded LCWRA for social anxiety (never left the house without my mum, never beeb on public transport, always been on anti depressants etc) I think I have autism but never been diagnosed, i was awarded lcwra in 2021, and never been reassessed since and was awarded high rated motability pip, so I have a motability car, I am 31 now, and am able to raise my kids, one who has autism, I raise them with the money from PIP and LCWRA as I do not get money from there dad, I'm terrified labour will target us with mental health problems I dont know what I'll do if I lose my lcwra and pip, I think I'll end my life, I am so scared I Take my kids on holiday once a year to like Spain but with my mum as I do not leave the house with out her, I am scared they'll ring me and say if you have social anxiety how can you travel? I can't stop crying I feel like I am going to have a mental breakdown sorry just need to talk to someone

I don’t know enough about the benefits system to advise on your situation, OP, but didn’t want to read and run. You could try calling Citizens Advice in the morning, and hopefully they can reassure you.

Are you in a safe place right now? Is your mum there?

If you’re alone with your children and feeling this upset, please call Samaritans on 116123. The call is free. It would probably help you to chat to someone and talk through your worries so you can let go of them a bit tonight and hopefully get some sleep. Wishing you well x

Ring 111 and 2 for mental health support.

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.
We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.
We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.
We are going to move this thread to the Mental Health section shortly.🌺

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. I understand completely as I'm in the same sort of position. I do now have some physical problems but the main body of my illness is mental.
The changes seem to be saying you need four points for one daily living task to get the daily living component. Can you look back at your award letter and see what points you got last time? And then think about how things have got worse since then?
Even if these changes do happen, it won't be immediately. Are you on UC? Make sure you're definitely getting all you're entitled to.
Speak to your GP about how you're feeling. I hope things improve for you x

I'm so sorry this is happening to you and understand why you feel so bad. I can't believe what Labour are doing, I feel so let down by them after voting for them. I never thought they'd be so cruel. However try not to worry too much, get as much support as you can from your mum, any others you have in your life and the Samaritans if you need to. Hopefully your benefits won't be affected in the way you fear. I agree with another poster about making sure you're getting everything you're entitled to. If you're due a reassassment soon there is a website called Benefits And Work which is very very helpful in helping you fill out all these forms etc. I think if you pay a low yearly fee ( about £28) you get access to even more detailed help but even without joining there's lots of good info on there. Try not to worry, it doesn't sound like you're in any position to work but I know it feels frightening. Sending hugs

I'm sorry this is affecting you in this way. I'm the same, I'm struggling to sleep because this is going round in my mind all the time.

I have some Mobility issues as well, but have never scored above 2 points in any category, although I get enhanced daily living. I'll not be able to pay my bills if I lose PIP and I can't work due to constant pain, anxiety, panic attacks, depression (for nearly 30 years) and a diagnosis of a personality disorder. People who say talk to citizens advice bureau just don't know how difficult it is to get PIP in the first place, however well meaning they are. I can't listen to the news or read articles online as it feeds my panic!

The only thing I can say is, it's not coming into effect yet and it's possible it may - at least in part - change or be thrown out.

Do you subscribe to the Benefits and Work newsletter? They're providing links to information and tell you how to write to your mp etc.
