OH assessment (work related)

Has anyone ever had an Occupational Health assessment for depression and possible autism (particularly what used to be diagnosed as Asperger Syndrome) if not actually diagnosed with autism?

This is a work related OH assessment in particular.

Was it useful? What kind of adjustments etc were suggested?

Thanks 🙂

Hi op.

I'm an OH advisor and carry out management referrals, very many related to MH and ND.

It really depends on your job role and the challenges you face as a result of your health conditions. Or vice versa, your health is being affected by an aspect of your role.

Can you provide a bit more context?

One thing I would definitely advise is that you self-refer to Access to Work. Many people I assess have never heard of them, which is a shame.

AtW are a government scheme who can provide funding (if eligible) for up to 80% (ish) of equipment/software/coaching.

OH can make recommendations but the employer can choose not to facilitate them if they're not deemed reasonable. So for example, cost. This is where AtW can come in very useful.

Thank you.

Do you need an actual diagnosis for Access to Work?

If you click on the image it says at the bottom that you don't need a diagnosis to apply Smile
