Hair Issue

My daughter is in her A-level and she gets stressed due to workload as a result she has formed a habit to keep pulling her hair. Sometimes I see her table has loads of hair. During exams time there are loads of hair around her books. I have asked her to stop it else she'll lose hair at very young age. She said she can't anymore and she doesn't even realise that she's doing it. Is there a way to stop this habit?

Hi OP, does she want to stop or is she not concerned about it?
Dies she realise that she is potentially causing permanent damage to her hair?

Yeah she wants to stop but every time she focus to read during test it starts again.

Could she try a fidget toy instead? To displace away from her hair?

Not tried fidget yet.

I think this is called tritchotillomania (may be spelling that wrong)
There are ways you can help manage this at home. As someone else said, using fidget toys can help by keeping her hands busy. tying up long hair. also plasters/tape on the fingers so she cant grip the hair to pull it
may be worth seeing the gp/school counsellor as often its a stress related behaviour

It is stress related and have become a habit.

If she ties her hair she gets tempted to pull her hair. If she leaves her hair down it's less but can't stop.

I'll try fidget.

I would speak to the gp, sounds like trichotillomania (sp) as a pp said, I suffered this as a teenager before anxiety in children and young people was a thing and can't remember when I stopped but it went on a long time. I think speaking to the gp or trying to reduce her stress or workload would help (not easy in exam time I know)
