Never imagined I would feel like this in my 30s

I just feel so low. I'm constantly anxious, waiting for something bad to happen. I can't see no light at the end of the tunnel. A few years ago I was happy.
How can I go on feeling like this

Have you spoken to your GP?

I could have written your post a couple of years ago, however I dug deep, went to the GP , admitted how much I was struggling, a course of CBT and a prescription later and whilst I still have ups and downs I'm a good 80% more stable than I was. I'm on long term antidepressants now, a low dose but enough to keep me straight.

Life is tough, it really is, and times right now are hard.

I hope you can get back to happy. You deserve it.

Thank you @Sausagedognamedmash.
I'm scared to go to the dr I wouldn't know what to say and would end up feeling silly. Not sure why but don't like the thought of given antidepressants.

There’s such a stigma around antidepressants but if you had a headache you’d take a paracetamol to get rid of it, this is really no different! Please reach out to your gp and just say you’re feeling anxious and it’s impacting your daily life, you don’t need to suffer. There are other options beside antidepressants such as counselling or lifestyle changes but seeing your doctor is a good place to start. I suffer from terrible anxiety so I really sympathise OP x

Hi!
I'm in my 30s and feel exactly the same as you due to some life events.
It's hard to trust and especially a stranger but I'm going to try!
If you had toothache, you'd go to a dentist. If you broke your leg, you would get an xray and they would stabilise it. This is only what anti depressants do. They stabilise you and in turn, it helps you think clearer and it takes the edge off life!
I've found that life is hard. Harder for some people than others. And if you had a painful issue somewhere in your body, you couldn't put up with it, you would get it fixed.
I try and think of it this way. Mental health is a pain too. It's a pain in my brain (and my arse but this is where help comes in 😉). Go and chat to your gp or mental health team. They're really good and they want to help you!
I've realised that I'm only in my 30s and I want to have at least a little bit of fun and enjoyment in my life!
What do you think x

Please go and talk to your doctor. Mental health is important.
