I’ve been awake all night. I just feel so worried and anxious about my little boy who is having headaches and has an MRI booked for Thursday. I can’t sleep, I can’t stop crying. I’m so worried it’s a brain tumour. I don’t know what to do with myself.

Oh I'm so sorry. This would be terrifying to me too, of course you feel this way. There are so many other things that could be causing headaches though, much much less scary things than a tumor. Can you try and focus on those possibilities instead? Do you have anyone IRL you can talk to? Sending hugs.

@ManchNic thank you for replying to me. So kind of you to take the time. It’s very hard at the moment. Just praying all is ok with my son.xx

Oh OP. I’m so so sorry you’re going through this. Headaches alone aren’t usually a concern, normally loss of coordination, changes in vision, vomiting and phantom smells are present. Have you seen an optician?

I went for an MRI scan back in May with symptoms like dizziness, twitching, phantom smells, headaches, tiredness, one sided pain, loss of appetite and poor coordination. I also had vision changes, such as blurriness and loads of floaters. I was absolutely petrified I had a brain tumour/MS and didn’t think I’d see the end of the year. I read so many stories of people having similar symptoms to me, that I was convinced something was very wrong with me.

I had a good cry to my DH just before going to the clinic to get my MRI. He calmed me down and we went in. Had my MRI and was told a week later that my brain scan was clear and nothing abnormal was found. The majority of my symptoms started to die out after hearing that. I had no idea anxiety could manifest these symptoms - so scary.

I can’t say your son won’t have a brain tumour, however it’s extremely unlikely and it’s a good job you’re going for an MRI scan. Please keep us updated - all the best.
