Is this inattentive ADHD?

I have recently requested my health record from my GP and came across this letter from a phycologist I was under at CAMHS 15 years ago when I was 11-17 years old. Have I been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD? I am considering trying the medication he has suggested as my whole life has been so mentally hard and exhausting, has anyone else been on this or similar medication and did it help? I remember being moved into a "special" class at school as I couldn't cope in the big busy class. Thanks!

Feedback from both home and school on Conner's forms suggests there is significant inattention which may be worthy of furti consideration for treatment. She does not score for hyperactivity or oppositional behaviour particularly, although interestingly she does reach significance on the ADHD index because of the high levels of inattention as well as scholastic related difficulties. It is possible that she would benefit from a trial of Strattera, which also deals with anxiety, in the future. But in the meantime the family will be pursuing Omega 3 fish oil.

Yes it sounds like it but as an adult I think you will need to be reassessed and rediagnosed. I don't think you will get a prescription from the letter. Ask your GP about Right To Choose and show the letter and describe your challenges to them. Good luck.

I take a fast acting stimulant methylphenidate which works in a similar way. It is very helpful.
