How did you find it? I took my first one last night. I feel awful 🙈

DH has been on them for a while. He started with 75mg and he felt awful. He was sick and dizzy. I spoke to my friend who is also on them and she said to actually opened up the tablet as they are made up of 6 smaller tablets, so he did 3 tablets to ease himself in which was a lot better.

His fingers felt numb/tingly for a while but it did go. He is currently on 225mg and no longer has side effects.

My mum and my friend are both doing well on it, they say it's the best one they've had. DH wants to change now as he feels it's not helping like it could but I've heard it's really difficult to come off.

I've been on it for 12 years. It's very effective; better than any AD I've been on and I've tried most. I've had clinical depression (major depressive disorder) since childhood. I remember when I started venlafaxine, I experienced weird symptoms such as a feeling of electricity running through my body. It was unpleasant but it passed quickly. Good luck!

I tried this off label for hot flushes, not AD. It didn’t do anything so I am weaning off them. It takes 3 months to get off the low dose I was on - one month to go! So just be aware of that. Also my pharmacist said not to suddenly stop taking them.

Starting side effects are grim for about a week - nausea & dizziness being the main ones. Make sure you take it at exactly the same time every day - set an alarm - even a half hour out can trigger withdrawal.

Having said that, if you push through, it is life changing. I went from not being able to get out of bed due to crippling anxiety to functioning fairly normally.

Edit - double post.

I agree with all the posts above. Side effects of going on it can be difficult - I had them for about 2 weeks. I felt the lessening of depression / anxiety from about two weeks as well.

But then it was a wonder drug for me. And yes you have to be really controlled and careful when coming off them due to the ??half life and side effects.

TheFancyWasp · 02/10/2024 08:37

Justsmileanwave have been ok on them noside effects ,up to 225mg now .Has taken quite a while to get to this point.Depression wise was pretty desperate been one he'll of a journey still in recovery .

Thank you for this. I took mine just before bed last night. I feel like I've got the worst hangover today. I really hope these work.
