Run out of citalopram 40mg and feeling effects now. What would you do?

What a twit. I was low on citalopram, so I ordered a new prescription. Unfortunately, its a bank holiday today, so I cannot get to the pharmacy.

I have symptoms of brain zaps, mood swings, the usual crap and feeling that I am a right idiot for not ordering the repeat prescription earlier.

Anyone got any tips for how to get through the afternoon until first thing tomorrow morning?

Try calling 111 to see if they can help?

If not then just get to bed and try and sleep it off until the morning. Withdrawal from my antidepressants makes me feel incredibly poorly: dizzy, nauseous, obviously anxious. I really feel for you!

I always had a couple of friends who were on Citalopram when I was on it so we used to lend each other 1 or 2 until we got the next prescription. Do you know anyone else nearby?

If not I would say just plonk yourself on the Sofa, put something on TV and have as low demand an afternoon as possible.

I went away for a long weekend and forgot my tablets-I also felt crap after a couple of days. Just soldier on and don’t do anything that requires in-depth concentration. The symptoms will ease within a couple of hours of taking your new tablets. 💐

Google out of hours pharmacy near you. Bring old box of medication with your name and address on and they can give you a small emergency supply. Happened to me before, you are not the first and won't be the last x

Thank you all so much for your kind messages. They have helped ♥️

I bought some brazil nuts, chocolate and chamomile tea. They are supposed to help. Definitely no alcohol tonight.
@PilgorTheGoat a nice idea, but I don't want to take up their time. I hope that you are ok now.
@lemonsaretheonlyfruit I don't know anyone at all who takes citalopram, in real life, but it would be helpful, as you say.
@BruFord its really unpleasant, isn't it. I was going to check my finances, but now is not the time.
@TalesTreadsTea thanks, but there isn't one nearby. Seems like I am not the only one 🙂 By the way, if I travel abroad, I put medication in my handbag, as my suitcase went astray once, with meds in it.
