Can she really do this?

I'm not in a great place at the moment. My care coordinator was due to see me tomorrow, and I phoned to cancel. She said she wasn't going to let me cancel. Can she really do this? I will have to let her in because in the past they've called the police when I haven't let them in.

Sorry to hear you aren't in a great place.
Your care coordinator should be the first person to help when things are tough. Not wanting to see them would ring alarm bells that things are getting too much for you so it's quite right that you can't cancel.

Let them in, but try to explain why you wanted to cancel - eg say you aren't feeling capable of talking. Perhaps say you can manage to answer yes/no questions but can't cope with sentences? Could you write down something about how you are feeling?

It sucks. Been there myself. But they are looking out for you, and despite our protests, sometimes the professionals really do know what we need.

Thanks @OpizpuHeuvHiyo , that's a good idea. Thanks @Alphabet1spaghetti2 - it just feels really unsafe to talk to her.

What care is she doing? Do you actually need to talk to her or is she doing household support that she can get on with without your input. Are you happier to type? In which case send her an email before hand explaining.

Oof that is hard. It may be a good idea to write it down / email her, if you can as pp suggest. Sometimes writing things down helps you to work out how you feel as well as helping the care provider understand you a little better.

@Singleandproud she's not a carer, she's what used to be called a cpn. Thanks for your support.
