Posted in chat but didn't get many responses. ^*
I^m currently on the adult ASD pathway.
^

I'm 32, 2 young children (3 and 6).

I can't keep a job down in the last few years. In 2 years I have had 3 jobs and now on the my 4th. All I have resigned a few months in as I have been struggling too much. All full time (I was in a job before all of them for 5 years, that was part time.)
I think it's working with people tbh.
My husband thinks I should go self employed in something, but I have no idea what?
On the 4th job and while I quite like the job, I have now got to do reception and I hate it. I'm back after a week of annual leave, and really really struggling to go back. ^
^

The fact I'm not diagnosed with ASD yet means i can get any support from work either.^
^

Please help, I do want to succeed in life and earn some money!*^

If you struggle to deal with people then I wouldn’t recommend self employment, that way you are the sole focal point for all interactions with every person within a business, not just customers but suppliers, complaints, HMRC etc.

I don't know what to do, I think I'm in a middle of a mini crisis with work, and very unsure what to do!

What was the job you did for 5 years? What did you do in your late teens, twenties?
What are the aspects of the job you struggle with?

You don’t need a diagnosis to request support from work. Self employment is good for autistic people because you’re in control and can set things up in a way that suits you. Schedule your interactions for times when you can cope, set things up in a way that suits you. Selling something is usually a good business because you’re selling a tangible product which means you don’t have to sell yourself.
