I’ve got an interview via Zoom on Monday which can’t really be rescheduled.

It’s for a good job but I’m in a psychiatric hospital on medication (doing well)and ii feel I can cope with the interview and job it’s offered to me.

I need my medication which causes slurring when. I speak and I have asked and am going to ask tomorrow if I can reduce medication which causes slurring. Has anyone had issues or experience of this?

I'd just say, right at the beginning : I'm sorry I'm on a medication that will cause slurring for a few days.

That’s actually a good idea. I’ll do that I think. It could be anything in terms of meds not just mental health meds which might put them off me.

Agree with first poster just say briefly and breezily that apologies if you are slurring some words you are currently on medication with that side effect and move on.

That does make as I’m being honest and side effects of meds can happen to anyone.

Do you slur all the time and is it better / worse just before or after a dose? If altering the timing of your meds might help have a chat with the Dr/ nurse to see if any flexibility is possible as a one off, without affecting your treatment.

I would actually message the interviewer in advance to say about the meds/slurring - just so it doesn't look like you're excusing it last minute iyswim!

It’s not all tthe time but sometimes and obvs interview nerves won’t help ether.

That’s what I was thinking about with talking to doctors/nurses re the meds.

I could do that but does it sound a bad excuse even if I send it in advance?

Anyway interview not til this coming Thursday so I’ve got time to email.
