Selfish ‘friends’ not helping

I have people who are hanger oners. For some reason they think it is ok to keep dumping their complex baggage on me or contact me everything they have a bad day. One person I advised to see a counsellor as I am not qualified to deal with the distressing issues they disclosed and I have over 12 minutes of voice notes they have sent too. There is being a good ear but I am not a free therapist at their beck and call.

My own mental health is not great at present due to work and other factors. I need to focus on getting better and out myself first. How can I get rid of these people as they are not helping my mental health? Thanks.

You don't have to answer the phone every time. Change the topic. Tell them you're sorry they're having a hard time but you have your own challenges going on and aren't able to offer that kind of support at the moment.

Just don't respond.

Don't feel guilty if you don't respond to people who are hanger oners.
If you don't want to reply, then don't

You can just ignore if you want to ( honestly it's fine to do that)
