Constantly anxious

Can anyone else relate, I'm 41 and just always have a low level on anxiety. I don't smoke and drink rarely. I do have a few cups of tea a day! I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible (though I do have a sweet treat in the afternoon)!

I'm 41 and just constantly living with this. Sometimes it can go into full blown panic attacks. I've gone to my doctor and all the offer is CBT, which I've tried before and doesn't help. They also did blood tests but nothing was found to be wrong! I just want to live a peaceful life (I'm a single mother working full time with a toddler so that might be unrealistic) but I'm just sick of constantly feeling on edge!

Can you remember when and why this started? Anxiety is the emotion that tells us when something is too important to ignore - it's why we revise for exams, turn up at the airport on time or turn the cooker off - so 'low level anxiety' is both normal and necessary. It becomes an issue when it's high all the time or is telling us to watch out for stuff that's not relevant.

I can relate to this OP. I struggled for years and am now on Sertraline. It’s been an absolute life changer for me! I get my crappy days but nothing like I used to feel. I’d definitely talk to your GP again. I tried CBT, not my thing at all. Let me know how you get on. Take care 🤞
