Odd symptom

My 12 year old dd tonight has just told me about an odd feeling she is having. She found it difficult to explain but said it sort of feels like she is suddenly dreaming (but she is still aware of where she is). It lasts around 5 seconds. Feels quite intense but then afterwards she can't really remember it. Apparently has been happening on and off for a few months. I'm going to contact gp tomorrow anyway but can't sleep now and am doom googling . Thoughts are maybe some form of epilepsy but am also worrying about psychosis. She is quite anxious generally. Any one suffered with similar symptoms?

Just to add I haven't noticed when she has had the episodes. She did also describe it as 'zoning out'

It could be absence seizures. Mention this to the GP.

Thank you, I will mention that

Absence seizures sprung to my mind too.

You can get a strange “warning” sensation like this with vestibular migraines op. If she gets a headache afterwards it could be that maybe?

It could be disassociation

Thank you, no headache. Last night she felt a bit sick and said her vision went a bit funny. She was trying to describe it saying what she looked directly at was normal but around it was wavy. Not sure if that is related though as she said that only happened yesterday and not all the other days she has had these episodes. I put the feeling sick down to anxiety at going back to school after half term.
