Ideas for a present for a friend with postnatal depression

Hi all,

A bit of strange question but my friend that lives overseas had her DC 6 months ago. She is suffering from severe postnatal depression and he is now hospitalised with the baby. She is expected to stay in these facilities 3-6 months with her little one in order to get medical support to get better.

I call/text her regularly to see how she is getting on and chat about random things to relax her but I was also thinking to send her a little present to make her feel better.

Any ideas?

I'm sorry @karpouzi I don't really have any ideas but that must be very hard for your friend. If she hadn't been overseas I'd have suggested that the best gift for her is some time to herself to relax or rest or do something that's just for her.

Yeah, I wish she was here. I thought about getting her a day spa treatment, massage etc but unfortunately even though she is allowed to leave the facilities, she chooses not to at this stage as she gets panic attacks multiple times a day.

S there any chance you could visit her?

Alternatively a care package, maybe some of her favourite treats, if she’s overseas she might not be able to get certain English foods she likes.

When I was in the mother and baby unit they had packs for the mums with a face mask, hair conditioner, bubble bath that sort of thing

Smelly hand cream, nail varnish and good self care too

Nice notebook for writing a journal

Favourite snacks hospital food can be rubbish

Nice colouring or dot to dot book and crayons. Colouring is one of the activities I always pick up again when my MH plays up
