Is it worth sending this letter off for my PIP claim?

I had an assessment for psychological counselling a few days ago, I have childhood trauma and sort of shut down when asked about it as I want expecting to go into detail at assessment.

I emailed the counsellor afterwards to explain this and opened up a bit about how it affected me daily as I sort of played it off during the phone call as I felt caught off guard.

Could this be used in my PIP form as I have agoraphobia. Anxiety, depression and very bad social anxiety but not much evidence of it as I avoid doctors and professionals because of the anxiety.

Is it worth sending this letter off for my PIP claim?

Was it an official NHS assessment or for private counselling? If the latter, then I doubt it would hold much weight with the DWP. It seems to be diagnosis based on just one phone assessment and an email.

I'm a therapist and yes they'd consider that evidence op 😁

Or they could do a more structured letter if you request 😁

It says NHS on the letter.

It may help, but it isn’t an actual diagnosis so is unlikely to hold much weight. A Psychologist or Psychiatrist assessment would be much more useful.

Yes that's fine to send op and you can send things later. Make sure you put your name and NI number on the top of the letter .

Yes definitely.
My friend was once an assessor.
( Also seems like you're going to step 3.. for PTSD.. I highly recommend EMDR.. Although long NHS waiting list.. l paid private at £80 per session.. some of the best money I've spent).
Good luck with the PIP and therapy. 💐

I'm on a waiting list and it's long.

Been waiting 2 years for ADHD /Autism assessment.

Thanks

Use RTC if you live in England the wait is only 3-6 months.
