Daughters unusual behaviour

My daughter late 20’s diagnosed with eupd is currently on a police 136 sadly not uncommon for her. However I got a phone call from them last night saying she Enuresis and that I needed to bring her new clothing from her flat we live about five minutes away so that’s not big deal. I don’t really understand why she would randomly do this. Is this a new illness? The staff said I was quite a lot urine so she had obviously been holding it rather than just a leak.

EUPD is often diagnosed in undiagnosed autistic females (if you see what I mean!). I mention this because one feature of autism is poor interception, therefore your DD might not have known she needed to go. Alternatively, she is ‘demand avoidant’ and going to the toilet is a demand.

Sorry to hear things are so tough OP Flowers

Thanks for the reply she has autism to so it’s very hard to manage. She’s never done it before which is why I found it odd. Staff also said the asked if she needed the loo due to her movements she said no she was fine.

Ah I see, well either of the explanations in my post might be the case, OP. It might be a one-off, or it might be linked to the stressful situation. Needing to go to the toilet is a fairly significant demand and autistic people aren’t always aware of the need to go, especially if they struggle to pinpoint if they’re full/empty.

Yes I guess so thank you. Could also be the fact she would have maybe had to ask for a male to be swapped to as it’s one to one when in 136 suites here. I know she’s been desperate before when on 1-1 with a male but would never say anything bless her. I know she has also said when she’s distressed she kind of forgets her basic needs eg eating drinking using the loo but it’s never been to the extreme where she’s lost control.

She should have a female with her, really, but I guess that’s not always possible. I’m so sorry this makes her uncomfortable, it’s so unfair Flowers

They do try to mix it up but I know at times from what she’s said it can be about three hours before you get a female.

Which when you need the loo isn’t ideal! They asked her why she didn’t use the toilet and she didn’t respond guess she will talk when she’s ready.
