ADHD therapists on NHS?

We arranged a year's therapy (privately) for our ADHD-diagnosed dd, but it ended last year. We can't afford this anymore as we have sunk thousands into it plus diagnosis and meds. Has anyone managed to secure therapy via the NHS, and if not, what have they done? DD is floundering at the moment, having left school before A levels. We can't get her into education again but she is also struggling to find work and needs therapy to keep her positive, engaged and organised around job hunts etc

No you won’t get anything on the NHS. All our area offers is a coping with adhd course after medication is stable. She wouldn’t be anywhere near the threshold for community mental health therapy and I’m not sure there is such a thing as adhd therapy anyway. I have it, as do my 3 children. We all have ASC too and two of my kids have been very unwell under services.

To be honest I think being realistic re the impact sdhd has on life is key, self study re how to manage it are your best bet. Have you looked at PIP though as if she got that it may help with therapy costs if you really wanted to continue to pursue it and find it yourself.

There are often charities that offer free counselling to under 25s. Have a Google to see what's available in your area.

Has she tried ADHD medication?
