Good luck im sure it will be a good outcome.

BettyBakesCakes · 09/01/2024 14:53

Good luck OP. We won one recently after waiting around a year. Took them two months to pay up though!

Lougle · 09/01/2024 15:21

I hope it goes well.

Good luck, hope you get the support that you are entitled to, the timescale is disgraceful OP.

doublexegg · 10/01/2024 12:35

OP let us know how it went.
Best of luck.

Hi. I got it but I just got the reward that was taken away and 1 point extra. If I'd got one extra point I'd have had standard for daily living and mobility which was an extra £229 a month 😮😮 I'm just getting the £23 a week.

I'm glad they've reinstated your claim. Sorry it wasn't as much as you expected though.

Yougetmoreofwhatyoufocuson · 10/01/2024 16:00

As they took so long to process you, your review will be up within 12 months likely. When the tome lands on your doorstep go straight to the lawyers that work for free to get you your PIP. AGE UK referred me to them and that seemed to give my claim some weight.
Also lots of the initial application had been filled in wrong , so I was able to represent myself. I asked for a video call as I knew I wouldn’t be able to follow a phone call with multiple people.
You know where that point will count so you can emphasise it on your review.
What a kick after two years, hope you get a better result at the review.

It must be a relief for you to have got your award back, that was taken away. Having to wait so long for the tribunal is appalling.

fixingmylife · 10/01/2024 16:24

It really is not right that you have had to wait so long, and have had to go through a tribunal, especially as this money relates to your mental health. I have been in a similar situation, when a partner I was living with had his PIP removed, then had to go to a tribunal. He was awarded significantly less afterwards, and yet his condition remained unchanged. It's really important that you got it, I'm just sorry that it was less than you were expecting. Well done for doing it. It really is not easy at all, having to jump through these hoops.

doublexegg · 10/01/2024 16:44

I hope they have back dated pip for you .

mrsbyers · 10/01/2024 16:47

Got mine on 7th , a year after they stopped my payments - went from basic living basic mobility to zero points and that was after having a stroke which only added to my problems !

I cannot even imagine how the assessor came to that decision. The system needs looking at. Too many people are not getting the correct awards, that they really should.

luckmewish · 11/01/2024 00:41

Sorry for not replying.

The DWP representative said she had no objections and couldn't believe it had been stopped!!!

I was shocked when I heard someone from DWP would be there as for my first tribunal (over the phone due to Covid) there wasn't one.

For my second tribunal in September (over the phone) they had to stop it as DWP hadn't sent in some info.

But today at the face to face one there were 5 of them. Really intimidating. Rather upsetting actually.

They want this to put you off. Don't let it!!!

Yes I get back pay and the reward is for 5 years.

I will get around £100 a month which is great but not enough when I can't work.

Glad to hear that you pushed through and got an award OP but £23 a week isn't much 😞
