First time poster here.

I have suffered on and off with Anxiety/depression for last 25 years.
I have had a pretty good spell over last 8 year however it has come back with a vengeance.
The mental symptoms are tough enough but when combined with physical symptoms like vomiting due to the extreme feelings of nausea it becomes unbearable.
I recently had a vomiting episode in which I ended up on A & E due to vomiting literally non stop for 3 hours, I actually collapsed in A & E due to dehydration.
Has anyone else suffered such severe physical symptoms with Anxiety / Depression?
I have now upped my dosage to 20mg but understand this will take a number of weeks to kick in.

Before my DH was diagnosed with anxiety he had real physical symptoms, so much so that he had an investigative operation that found nothing. He struggled to swallow food, so ate sloppy food, and he lost so much weight that I thought he had cancer.
Antidepressants were a life saver for him, he was told to never come off them.

Hi @Comroyal I'm so sorry to hear that you are suffering. Anxiety is awful. I wouldn't wish it on my enemy. What helped me when I was at my worst is a book by Claire weeks titled SELF HELP FOR YOUR NERVES. Buy it. Read it cover to cover and follow it to the T. If followed properly, it can change your life for the better.

They’ve been a huge help for me down the years.
I always think why suffer when there’s medication to assist.
If you have high blood pressure you take medication, why if you have an imbalance in your brain should you not take something to help.
Really pleased the meds have helped him and allow him to live a normal life.

For all these years, have you been doing anything besides medication - like therapy, exercise, etc?

Hi OP
yes the physical side of the anxiety is an absolute hell on earth. I have vomited like you, shook sweated buckets, felt like I have had a rod of adrenaline in my body that has made me so rigid, been unable to breath, pins and needles in face and arm so much so I ended up in A&E thinking I’ve had a stroke. It really is so debilitating. I find that I get stuck in an endless loop of thinking about how I feel and subconsciously being aware of anxiety’s every move. You are not alone. I am currently in a relapse too but proponolo at 40mg has really helped too. Can you ask your doctor about this. It stops the physical symptoms.

I last has some counselling around 8 year ago. I was very skepictal but it did actually help.
i go to the gym 5/6 times a week, play football once a week and am involved with my sons grassroots team coaching etc.
I have had a neck operation around 5 weeks ago which has meant I haven’t been able to do the gym while recovering and this may be playing a part in my current lapse.

Once in that malaise you just can’t see a way out, despite the fact I’ve been here a number of times and have always come out the other side.
i had a telephone appt with doc yesterday and he has upped my citalopram from 10mg to 20m.
The mental side is something that for all is hell if I really push myself and keep doing things I normally do and enjoy I can get by (existing rather than living though). The nausea and actual vomiting is something that is so debilitating.
So pleased the medication is helping you, I’ll speak to my GP about this.
