Have name changed for this. How on earth do I support my DC who is back home in the depth of this and under crisis team. They are an adult and are stuck in their room, eating rubbish food and drinking. To be honest I feel I have nothing to give and am concentrating on trying not to show my frustration which is best done by ignoring them. Their present and future looks incredibly bleak. I can't even bring myself to doing something like buying them a Christmas present as I need to spend all my effort on trying to keep working and to at least do something for their sibling.

When your child (adult or teen) relapses with a MH crisis, it's an absolute heart-sink moment, and when it happens again and again, it's hard to cope yourself as you are so tired from the last times. I would focus on getting your own support in place, so GP if you are down, moan to your friends, try to keep your own spirits up which is hard. I wouldn't worry about Christmas this second, but I would buy everyone a similar value gift, don't let it ruin everything.

Thank you. Am getting some support myself but feels as if with every cycle all the things I try to put in place to create some space for myself in ‘normal’ land gets pulled apart by what is going on with DC
