How to build self esteem and self worth

Can anyone give me tips on how to build self esteem and self worth?

I have such low self esteem and confidence I don't like myself, think some of it has to do with childhood issues where I was put down quite a bit by my parents. My feelings have got even worse since I made a life changing decision which in hindsight I don't feel I thought through enough.

I just want to feel better I feel miserable all the time like a cloud is hanging over me. I haven't been to the GP I am hoping I can try some strategies which will help instead.

I have got a lot to be grateful for in life so I don't know why I am focusing on the negatives all the time. Any tips on how to stop this also and focus on the positives more? Would appreciate any help xx

Start by having a read of this article;

And a look at this video;

Both deal with the subject of core beliefs - the way we think about ourselves based on what we learned/absorbed/were told in childhood and now accept as truth.

Once you have figured out your own negative (or limiting) core beliefs you can stand working on them; CBT is excellent for this and, if you have the time, studying it can be really empowering. Kain Ramsay has a number of courses on Udemy and a fantastic book - Responsibility Rebellion.

Knowing why you think the way you do, and knowing that you can change this to be more balanced and rational is, (IMHO) the best way of becoming someone you would like to spend more time with. 😊
