Hi,
ive had quite a rubbish year- a miscarriage in February, fell pregnant again may but suffered another miscarriage in August. On the same day I found out my baby had no heartbeat I also found out I was being made redundant. Thought I was doing ok, but towards the end of august I started getting debilitating intrusive thoughts, so went to the GP who put me on 50mg Sertraline.

Been on it for 4 weeks now and was starting to feel a slight bit better, but for the last couple of days I’ve been feeling extremely anxious again and the intrusive thoughts are starting to creep in a bit again. Has anyone else had this after a month on Sertraline? I did speak to a GP about getting the dosage upped slightly but she told me to wait another two weeks :-/

It may be that it needs to be upped.

Have there been any triggers? Dates or issues re the redundancy that has added to it.

I'm on a higher dose but sometimes when there's a lot of triggers going on I struggle a bit. Call 111 / 2 and chat with them if you're struggling

@Iguessyourestuckwithme I did ask the GP today about upping the dose but she told me to wait another 2-4 weeks to see how they go. I think now I’ve actually finished work and haven’t got anything to really occupy my time, it’s giving my brain more time to overthink everything

Yes time gives you endless opportunities to spiral, obsess and ruminate.

I'm not sure why the bad thoughts seems to.multiply faster than the good ones but to just want you to know there is support out there.

I really didn't think there was and even when i was getting it I was saying I'll give it 3 months. But now I'm just living day to day and not thinking off the future too much

I’ve been on it for a few months now, and have recently been feeling so much better, so I suggest sticking with it for a while longer.

@NillyNoMates did you find you had a little blip after the first month? Glad to hear you’re feeling better

Hi I had a miscarriage in September and have been prescribed 50mg today. I haven't taken it because the list of side effects are a lot and I'm scared. @Pringle2223 how are you?

Pringle2223 · 30/11/2023 19:22

@Ohwow2022 so sorry to hear that ❤️ I feel a bit better than I did to begin with, my mind is still not where I’d like it to be but it’s an improvement. It’s worth pushing through the side effects, to begin with it feels like the side effects won’t end but they do. I had no appetite and constant nausea to begin with and I was worried about losing weight but now I’m eating loads again. Honestly the side effects are worth it if they help your mind. Sending you love and strength xx

@Pringle2223 ah thank you so much for replying. Do you have a specific time you take it? I was thinking before bed but not sure sure. 🤔

Pringle2223 · 30/11/2023 20:39

@Ohwow2022 i take mine in the morning as I was worried about it disturbing my sleep x
