Has anyone had experience of this?

I saw the crisis team for an assessment today after my GP referred me urgently and I was told I would get daily visit from tomorrow for a week or two to give the anti depressants time to work.

It is serious isn't it....

The person I saw was fantastic and I basically told everything and I think she assessed as being at risk and vulnerable so hence they are monitoring me daily.

I suppose at least I avoided having to go to hospital but it did hit hard that I have hit the stage where I need that type of support.

Yes I’ve had experience of this a couple of times and found the crisis team hugely helpful. Don’t focus on how bad things are, focus on the support you’re getting hopefully to allow you to move forwards. And don’t forget you can usually call the crisis team any time as well if you’re struggling and feel at risk - they’re your safety net for now and they want to help you get through this.

Ahh. I've had the home treatment team a few times, I didn't find them helpful at all as they would be different people each day and they seemed robotic in the way the spoke to me. I now have a CPN ( who visits me weekly) and I prefer that only in terms of the familiarity etc

I’ve had this and found it very helpful. In my area they call it ‘hospital at home’ as it was felt going into the hospital would traumatise me further.

I had a really good visit this morning and they were so helpful and easy to talk to, so so far so good and they made a massive difference to how my day went :)

My dh has had this a couple of times. They were all brilliant and offered great support to the whole family. Sometimes it was different people every day but, because they all worked in the same office, they liaised with each other about him. Their support was invaluable.

I'm glad they were good. Do you have kids?

I worry so much about my daughter being aware of me being mentally unwell

@desikated no I don't have kids at home and I have only told a couple of friends what is happening to me at the moment.

There is no shame in asking for help and your daughter would want to see you getting the support you need and getting better.

The team has been great. It is usually different people every day which took a while to get used to but they have been a real support so far. Today they suggested we go out for our chat rather than doing indoors. I think they want to start interacting back with the world a bit more so we will see how that goes!
