Best therapy to deal with a specific problem

Hi all,

I'm already on sertraline (still waiting for it to start working as only two weeks in). I also want to try some talking therapy. Can anyone recommend a therapy for dealing with a specific problem/anxiety trigger?

There's something in my life causing me a lot of stress and frequent panic attacks. It's not a problem I can simply resolve, I need to learn to live with it and change my mind set about it.

I've had CBT in the past for anxiety/worry in pregnancy, quite a few years ago now. It was helpful to an extent but I don't think I had a very good therapist. Not against trying it again, but wonder if there's anything else I should consider?

Any advice/recommendations would be great. X

Remedial hypnosis (well, I would say that!) or EMDR are good options.

NICE guidance recommends CBT or EMDR for such problems.
Please find a BABCP accredited CBT therapist, or change your therapist if you don't 'click'.
And check that the EMDR therapist is trained in anxiety/ phobia work, not just trauma.
Good luck in getting something sorted!

Thanks @Eyesopenwideawake and @AreYouShittingMe, will try and get something sorted. Can you try Hypno and talking therapy at the same time, do you know? Both sound promising.

Remedial hypnosis is a talking therapy, the conversation is with the subconscious rather than the conscious mind - there's no trance involved.
