Panic attack during the night?

Has anyone experienced panic attacks during the night before?

I think I had one this week, it was awful!

I have never been to the Dr about it or anything but I do think I have anxiety. I go through periods when it’s particularly bad, especially when very stressed and often experience ‘meltdowns’ for want of a better word which I do think are panic attacks. But never had anything during the night 😢

See your GP. I suffer them.. Any time night or day.
Heart starts racing.. feel dizzy.. go hot.. can't breath.. feel very scared.. anxious.. just very frightening.. I'm lucky l cam phone one of my daughters who talks me out of it and calms me down. There isn't an instant medication.. but there is for anxiety.

Yes and they can be terrifying. Sorry you went through this, definitely call your GP

My GP prescribed me beta blockers for an anxiety attack. They help bring the heart rate down so the physical symptoms of the panic attack abate. I am on sertraline which helps lessen their occurrence but if one does happen (due to various triggers)I can use the beta blockers and feel better within 10 mins and symptoms do not worsen

I had this and it's petrifying and leaves you upset the following day. I started to dread going to bed. It was menopause related. I started hrt and all good again

They're scary when they wake up up. I would visit the GP but the website No Panic has a recorded message playing on a loop that's great at bringing you out of it as it's happening.

Wake you up, even.

I get nocturnal panic attacks, they’ve a quality to them that’s even worse than the day times, maybe because they’re so disorientating. I have to ‘come round a bit before I can do grounding exercises etc. You have my sympathy, they’re a misery
