Finally had enough of OCD taking over my life as has my DH and have decided that the only way to do this now is to invest in some private therapy- it’s expensive and in a typical OCD way I am over thinking it and want to get it right !
i would love a personal recommendation as looking online there is so much out there

I’ve tried CBT exercise nutrition all the apps and get no where -ERP is probably what I need
can anyone recommend a therapist - I’m london based bit of seems many are on zoom anyway
made a company called ocdexcellence anyone tried it ?
really appreciate any suggestions
TIA

@Marmitemyway . Fellow OCD suffer here. I'm also fed up of OCD ruling my life but it would be nice to speak to someone who actually suffers from it . Can I ask how yours manifests and how long you've suffered from it?

Also never used them myself but from OCD support groups I'm on NOCD seems to have really good reviews.

I still have it after many years but I just do my best to ignore it. I think that’s all you can really do ?

@Ilovedogs1 mine has developed in the last 5 years since I became menopausal - was always a worrier before but following some CBT for anxiety and low mood it was obvious to my therapist and then to me that it was OCD
Mine is mainly a fear of harming someone unintentionally by poisoning them by what I cook etc and it leads me too wash everything massive amounts of times, wash my hands way too much, overthink and question every little cooking step - eg did I was the fruit, was the knife clean, were my nails clean etc etc so everything takes 5 times as long and the lack of being able to escape my thoughts wears me out and then sets off the anxious stomach and panic and constant need for reassurance that everything is ok. I ma also a perfectionist and will question every move I make and whether even morally it has harmed someone, were my words to harsh if I need to complain etc, its exhausting
I also self sabotage myself eg when going o holiday become convince I will get covid or something before I go so am on edge then
Hence why I need professional help. My other therapist covers OCD but not to the level that I want which is a specialist in this
I hope you deal with your OCD better than I do
What is NOCD ?

@Marmitemyway unfortunately my OCD has been in control for most of this year. NOCD is a OCD specific therapy service. Never used them myself but they seem to get really good reviews.
I've had OCD for over 30 years. It waxes and wanes. I'm thinking of looking into hypnotherapy.
