Am in an episode of some type of anxiety/depression/agitation/suicidal ideation and urges

Physical anxiety symptoms of dizziness headaches, pounding heart and a non specific feeling of terror

mentally very very detached from my surroundings and major derealisation / vision problems

Has been escalating since January - nhs have been useless. Been under crisis team three times already and taking clonazepam to get through the day I.e not do something I regret. Not working or functioning at all now

I don't have experience of either but if you just go by cqc reports Windsor is more positive (although it's 2019.)

Have they seen a private psychiatrist?

GardeningIdiot · 26/07/2023 22:59

I've had to look into this a couple of times, and have never found a place with a genuinely good reputation. That doesn't mean they don't exist, of course.

I would start by finding a good psychiatrist who also works privately, if you haven't done so already.

I know you ruled out The Priory (assuming we both mean the 'original' at Roehampton) but I thought they were fantastic.

We've spoken on your other thread. When my psychiatrist has wanted me to consider inpatient treatment (which he has a couple of times but I've always refused), his recommendation has always been the Nightingale.

Sorry I must seem so desperate (well I am really) - okay I will ask my family to look into this now. Thank you SO much for replying

That wasn't meant as a criticism at all! I was just saying a friendly hi in case you thought I was weird (overthinking no doubt).

Makes far more sense for this to be a separate post and hopefully you'll get some other good recommendations and find something that helps you through this difficult time Flowers

I’ve been doing an insane amount of research on anti depressants and am going to try and speak to a private psychiatrist tomorrow and get another opinion as I can’t see how 15mg Mirtazapine on its own is going to break this state I’m in. And I am being ghosted by nhs community team about when I can increase dose

For what it's worth, when I was at my worst, I think I had the max dose of sertraline + amitriptyline + olanzapine + diazepam as needed. Speaking to a psychiatrist is definitely a good idea because they have access to far more combinations of medication (and can privately prescribe things that are off label for mental health use in the UK).
