Panic attack out of the blue

Away on holiday at the minute. Having a lovely time. Had a few drinks yesterday, as you do.

Went to bed absolutely fine, fell asleep but woke in the night feeling panicked. Had s full on panic attack which lasted for ages, physically feeling nauseous, breathless and the 'dread' like feeling of something bad was going to happen.

Eventually managed to get back to sleep but have woken up feeling off.

This hasn't happened to me in many years. I have no reason to feel anxious or panicked.

Not sure s was by I'm reaching out, guess I need reassurance that this may be linked to the heat/alcohol 😩

Definitely linked to the heat and alcohol, plus throw in the news from Greece and a strange bed/bedroom!

I have found that as I've got older (late 30s), this is more often than not my reaction to alcohol. Even when I haven't had too much to drink, the anxiety reaction can be intense (and unpredictable). I rarely drink now as a result and, when I do, I have a max of two glasses.

Thanks for the reassurance. Think you're right. It's very hot here. Not quite Greece hot but not far off.
Not going to mix drinks tonight and stick to two max.

Hate feeling anxious. I get anxious about getting anxious 😩

Have a look at the Ted X "how not to feel anxious about anxiety" 😊

Thank you eyesopen, I will take a look tonight. Crazy isn't it, anxiety being an anxiety provoking thought!
