Dd1 is suffering from this. I would love ideas or recommendations of how to help her. It’s becoming an issue for her to be able to live her life. She is meant to be (do nd res crossed) going off to uni this sep so we would like to try and tackle it as soon as we can….)

My husband found that EMDR therapy allowed him to get his shy bladder under control.

Oh wow thank you so much @Wbeezer

I've helped someone with the opposite problem, her bladder decided 4am daily was a good time to wake her up! A couple of sessions and it understood this was neither helpful nor desirable.

@Eyesopenwideawake sounds great that you were able to help. May I ask what form the help took? Was that EDMR too?

I'm a remedial hypnotist. It's an emotional issue, so it's controlled by the subconscious mind rather than the conscious, rational mind. Once it (the SC) realises the behaviour is no longer necessary and is actually causing distress/inconvenience, it will stop.

@Eyesopenwideawake so would you recommend hypnotherapy? How can we find someone reputable?

If you look for a CONTROL System Practitioner - there's a list on the website - anyone of them will be able to help your daughter.

I found EMDR really helpful too and finally my shy bladder symptoms have reduced.

Thank you @Austin7 . I’m so pleased for you that things have improved.
