I wondered if anyone can offer any advice, I moved house recently due to noisy neighbours and have discovered that my new neighbours are also very noisy, letting doors bang very loudly (late enough to wake us up). I think I may have some PTSD from the last experience as now I can't even relax in my home even when the noise isn't happening and seem to go straight into flight or fight mode. It is affecting my mental health and marriage plus I've had to recently go on AD's due to having suicidal thoughts. I'm thinking I may have developed some noise sensitivity but don't know where to turn.

Misophonia is the overly emotional reaction to everyday noises. The reticular activating system is a part of your brain which filters out what's important for you to pay attention to and what you can safely ignore.

It's why people learn to live next to busy roads or railway lines or can sleep in an airport but the sound of a baby crying (or a cat vomiting!) will have you alert within seconds.

In your case, your mind has associated the noises from your neighbours with a threat to your peace, more so because you moved specifically to get away from this precise problem, and that's why you're having the flight or fight response to even the thought of it.

Breaking the link between the noise and the emotional reaction is the key to stopping it. Remedial hypnosis allows you to connect with the part of your mind that's drawing attention to the noise to simply stop, because it's not helpful or necessary.
